Using 'Coursebox Tutor'

Created by Carolina Martin, Modified on Wed, 27 Aug at 9:40 PM by Carolina Martin

The Coursebox Tutor is a pre-trained AI chatbot designed to support your learners by answering course-related questions. You can customise the tutor's personality, name, and response scope to align with your course goals. This tool enhances the learner experience by providing real-time assistance and reinforcing key concepts.

The steps are:

  • Navigate to the course settings and enable the AI Chatbot Tutor feature.

  • Note your plan may have a cap on total enabled AI chatbot tutors: if necessary, you may disable a course chatbot and enable new chatbots in alternative courses instead.

  • Under the Advanced section, fill in the following fields:
    • Custom Instructions: Provide a clear description of your course and what the tutor should help with.
      Example:
“You are a helpful tutor for the course ‘How to Create and Sell Courses with Coursebox AI.’ Answer questions and support learners based only on the content of this course.”

  • Welcome Message:
“Hi, I am your tutor. How can I help you learn?”
  • Tutor Name: Choose a friendly, human-like name (e.g., “Mike”).
  • Tutor Icon: Upload a JPG, PNG, or SVG image (max 1MB) to personalise your tutor.

Restricting Responses

You have control over how your AI Tutor responds:

Restricted: The AI Tutor will only provide responses based strictly on your course content.

Unrestricted: The AI Tutor can also provide general knowledge answers in addition to your course material.

  • Toggle Restrict Response to On to ensure the AI only responds to questions related to your course content. This helps keep learner interactions focused and relevant.

Training the AI Tutor

To ensure your AI Tutor gives the most accurate and relevant answers, you can train it on your existing course content. There are two main training options:

Files
Upload course files such as:

  • .pdf

  • .txt

  • .docx

  • .csv

  • .pptx

Simply drag and drop or browse to upload. These files will be used to align the AI Tutor’s responses with your course.

Websites

You can also train the AI Tutor using relevant website links. This is especially helpful if your course references external resources, policies, or guidelines that learners will need.
